McMaster University, located in Ontario, Canada, has acquired a COSMOS Z4, our large-format concrete 3D printing solution.
However, this announcement is not just about selling a piece of equipment. It is about what happens when industrial technology meets university research
The Technology: COSMOS Z4 and Adaptation to the Canadian Market
The COSMOS Z4 is designed for large-scale construction applications, allowing the construction of structures up to 4 meters high within a maximum printing area of 10 × 5 × 4 meters. This project has also presented a significant technical adaptation challenge for the Canadian market, including the developments required to strictly comply with CSA certification requirements.
Turning 3D Printing into a Knowledge Platform
The addition of the COSMOS Z4 will enable McMaster University to advance new lines of research, experimentation, and applied development in construction. They will be able to explore the possibilities offered by concrete additive manufacturing in key areas such as structural behavior, seismic engineering, and new construction systems.
This is precisely one of our major commitments to the university sector: turning concrete 3D printing into a platform of knowledge. A space where researchers, universities, and future professionals can explore new ways of designing, manufacturing, and building.
University + Industrial Technology = Knowledge
Beyond the Hardware: The Vision of COSMOS Academy
Our vision goes far beyond supplying hardware. Through COSMOS Academy, we want universities to have access not only to advanced additive manufacturing technology, but also to the knowledge, training, and tools needed to research the complete 3D construction process:
{Design} – {Materials} – {Manufacturing} – {Operation} – {Application}
Acknowledgments and Collaboration
An achievement of this magnitude is made possible thanks to trust and teamwork. We would like to extend our special thanks to:
- Mohamed Ezzeldin, from McMaster University, for the trust placed in our technology and the entire COSMOS 3D team.
- ADOR Tech, our partner in Canada, and especially Reihan Sha and Ariov Nazar. Their knowledge of the Canadian market, engineering capabilities, and commitment to the project have been fundamental in bringing Cosmos 3D technology to Ontario.
Next Steps and Internationalization
Over the coming weeks, our team will travel to Canada to carry out the assembly, installation, and commissioning of the COSMOS Z4 at McMaster University
For Cosmos 3D, this project represents much more than a new installation:
- It represents a step forward in our internationalization.
- It represents bringing technology developed in Spain to one of North America’s most relevant university ecosystems.
- And above all, it represents the beginning of a new stage: bringing 3D construction technology to where the future of construction is being researched.
“We don’t just want to print buildings. We want to help research what buildings can become.“
Thank you, McMaster University.
Thank you, ADOR Tech.
Welcome to the Cosmos 3D ecosystem.
